Recently we’ve faced a problem which might (and likely WILL) become your problem, too.
Our city is under a bot attack. Not simply cheaters using GPS-spoofing but fully automated bots.
1. They’re moving between portals with critical speed. (They don’t take into account wide streets or water barriers)
2. Attacking and capturing portals.
3. It takes them 1 minute avg. to capture the portal, they’re able to deploy l8-l4 resonators in 15-20 seconds. All eight of them.
4. They’re upgrading captured portals with Rare or VR shields.
5. There are large areas with no XM in the city and portals owned by bots are always fully charged.
These players were not seen in logs before, still they could upgrade 300 or more portals with high-level resonators for one day.
But things changed just yesterday.
Three agents (@afagujj @Otovdohued @blifnajtir) captured 300 portals, deployed over 3000 resonators FOR ONE DAY. And they’re not going to stop. Considering abnormal amount of stuff they have, we’re sure that there are other bots in the city not seen in logs.
The game completely loses any sense for real agents in this case. Both fractions agents. The entire city will belong to resistance by tomorrow and they can move to any other city.
We hope to draw Niantic Labs attention to this problem and we ask you for maximum resonance.
