Today we’re excited to launch Google Maps Engine Lite (Beta): http://mapsengine.google.com/map Maps Engine Lite is a simple, powerful tool for mapping enthusiasts to create custom maps. Whether you’d like to post a map of your favorite hikes or need to quickly crowdsource the latest forest fire updates, Maps Engine Lite lets you:
• import data from a spreadsheet, or simply draw and add points of interest, lines and shapes
• style the points and shapes on your map, and choose from nine base map styles
• share your map with colleagues and embed it on your website
The map below was created by the MAPA Project, and features the locations of Shark Spotters along the False Bay coastline in South Africa, as well as reported white shark sightings.
