On Friday evening august 30th, the Ingress Community of Hamburg created their first cross-faction Field Art.

The motive, a sail boat, was placed in the center of Hamburg around the town hall area. Choosing a motive with a maritime character was quite logical for the agents of both factions since Hamburg is a trading city with a beautiful haven and a cosmopolitan attitude.

The area used to create the motive had about 1,4 km length to 850 meters height, building the motive took one good hour.

The planning was done in a cross-faction Google group and intended to clean the area first to keep not involved portals gray, capture the corresponding portals, link them in the intended order and build the fields one after another. Most keys were hacked and exchanged in advance, communication during the event was lead by two operators via event-hangout

According to the fact that the Hamburg Ingress Community had no experience with Field Art before, the cross-faction event was a success. Small mistakes in the planning could be corrected during the event immediately by the unique power of the participating agents. There was no trouble with players not involved and the sail boat stood nearly one hour like we build it without being destroyed or attacked. The motive wasn’t too complicated but nevertheless a challenge.

Thanks to the following 18 agents who took part in the event.
